In this project I used the word ‘photography’ in its very own and original meaning from the old greek words “phos” (light) and “graphe” (drawing) ‘drawing with light’.
So the concept for my project was to take photographs of light and to use the camera instead of a brush or pencil to create a new visual world. The aspect of coincidence plays an important role in this project, because I could define the outer technical terms and come closer to my desired results from photograph to photograph. This method turned out to be an ongoing process of learning throughout the entire photo sessions. The resulting pictures feature the relation between the awareness of execution versus the coincidence of the unique captured moment.
The specific thing about this work is that it has not been digitally processed. What you see is what came straight out of the camera. I love the pure photographic work with its pure results. As a professional photographer I am very accurate in taking photos, because I prefer to show photography rather than “Photoshop”.
Light tracks (Light paintings Series I)
shows tracks of coloured lights which are used as pattern to create a strong visual, graphic experience. Some of these photographs are very colourful, dynamic and vivid whereas others appear very elegant.
Light fragments (Light paintings Series VI)
shows traces of coloured light appearing in different intensity, different shapes and colours, reduced to a graphic design. These photographs are very airy, fresh, bright and positive and some are a bit spherical.
